Job Title: Building Services Engineer (Commercial Gas)
Location: Peterborough, PE1
Job Description:
Reporting to the department managers the successful engineer will take on the role of supporting the mechanical department with their ongoing works and variety of projects.
Due to the nature of our varied projects, works can be Nationwide and require flexible working hours. These projects can include supermarket/retail, schools, prisons, police stations, colleges, warehouses, undertaking breakdowns, installation works, planned preventative maintenance and response maintenance contracts.
Developing positive relationships with your colleagues, our clients and all other site operatives are of paramount importance and therefore excellent communication skills are key.
This is a full-time position and hours of work will be 39 hours per week:
07:45hrs to16:30hrs Monday - Thursday
07:45hrs to 15:30hrs Friday
This will also involve daily travel and possible working away fromtime to time as deemed necessary for the needs of the business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* All aspects associated with a qualified NVQ Level 3 Commercial Gas Engineer with proven experience of working within a similar environment.
* Working on all aspects of commercial gas including (but not limited to) installation and maintenance of boilers, boosters and pipework.
* Working up to IGE/UP/1 tightness, strengthtesting and purging.
* Overseeing, supervising and training of trainees and apprentices.
* Knowledge/understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.
* Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices on site.
* Attendance ofregular site meetings.
* To identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
* Ensure thatacceptable levels of customer care are provided at all times.
* To provide cover for other associated staff during times of absence.
* Regular use of our computer systems and other software packages.
* Participation in our Emergency Call Out service.* We undertake contracts and projects for varied companies that require our employees to undertake clearances along with an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service clearance.
Essential Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 in mechanical based qualification (or equivalent)
* Current Commercial Gas Qualifications
* Domestic Gas Qualifications
* Unvented Hot Water Qualification
* JIB PHMES CSCS Card
* Experience of working within a similar commercial and industrial environment
* Competent inIT skills
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
* Self-motivated and proactive
* Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team
* You must hold a full current UK driving licence and have had 6 months driving
* experience since passing your test and live within an hour of the PE1 5UP area
* Willing to travel on adaily basis as required for the needs of the business
* Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring
* Service check, MOJ CTC clearance, MOD vetting clearance and enhanced police clearance.
