MCG Construction has a newopportunity for a Quality Control Test Engineer role for a major contract in Lane End site in High Wycombe.
Purpose ofthe role
The Quality Test engineer will be primarily responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of all equipment and automation necessary to support the quality control testing of ELW products.
Additional responsibilities include the provision of technical support to the QC team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
*
Design & development of test automation necessary to enhance the effectiveness of product quality control testing.
*
Create and manage a maintenance program to ensure all plant & test equipment is operating efficiently and within specification.
*
Design & development of all jigs and fixtures necessary to enhance the effectiveness of product quality control testing.
*
Comprehensive investigation and effective resolution of any product quality issues that are identified throughout the manufacturing facility.
*
Direct involvement in new product development andengineering handover process, including the early generation of a quality plan for each project.
Secondary Responsibilities
*
Provide first contact technical support for all product-related issues within the QC department.
*
Supportthe training of QC staff for all product and process activities. This will include final assessments to determine individual competency.
*
Lead the investigation of all customer complaints relating to product quality, publishing technical reports onthe outcome.
*
Adopting lean six sigma methodology, champion the identification and introduction of new methods, equipment, and techniques to facilitate business continuous improvement.
*
Analyse product performance data to adopt a proactive approach to risk, both from a product and process perspective.
*
Identify and introduce opportunities to maintain best-practice within the department.
*
Support the QC Administration team with maintaining and updating any test procedures or documentation.
*
Manage to full resolution all non-conforming product issues throughout the manufacturing facility, including measures to prevent reoccurrence.

Must Haves….
*
Hands-on, practical mindset with workshop experience.
*
Minimum 3 years experience working in a Quality Engineering role or frequent involvement with quality-related issues.
*
Use of 2D & 3D CAD software, preferably Creo Parametric.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience working with the ISO 9001:2015 framework would be an advantage.
*
HND, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
*
Demonstrable knowledge of the processes and procedures involved within an ISO9001 manufacturing business.
*
Involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) is desirable.
*
Proven ability to introduce significant improvement strategies within the business.
*
Good verbal and written comprehension across all staff levels.

Practical, hands-on approach to tasks.
