We are recruiting for a leading Facilities Management Contractor looking to add a Senior Buyer to their team!





Job Title - Senior Buyer

Area/Location - Reigate, Surrey

Type of Job- Permanent

Start Date - As Soon As Possible

Salary - £45000 to £55000





Purpose of the Role-

To input into and drive the material buying strategy to ensure that we deliver on our

Business Plan objectives. Key commodity ownership and management of agreed

materials to leverage the best value prices and service for the business. To manage and

develop ateam of more junior buyers together with whom you will deliver a professional

material buying service to our delivery teams,collaborating with them to meet their cost,

quality and delivery needs. It is important because: The long-term future of thebusiness depends upon this performance. Your Line Manager will nominate another deputy with the necessary experience, competenceand skills to act as deputy in the event of absence.



A Few Key Responsibilities of the Role-

* The Senior Buyer will develop and maintain positive relationships internally and to promote and protect the company's reputation whilst remaining focused.
* This will allow the company to work with more customers that recognise and buy our value proposition.
* Helping andsupporting your respective teams and people and building close and

effective relationships with operational teams and suppliers.

* This will ensure that your respective colleagues and site teams receive timely materials in accordance with project requirements and to an acceptable condition
* Supporting the teams in any negotiation in line with business expectation and bydemonstrating the company's values in all dealings

* To promote the company brand and the descriptors of "personal, agileand assured".
* Ensuring that you and your people live by the company values and understand how to

use, develop and promote the company brand

* Promoting the company culture and values in line with the Behavioural Matrix
* To become and createmore accountable leaders within the team.
* Ensuring you are a role model example and coaching others to achieve the same

high standards. You will be proactive whilst taking a considered and well thought

through approach. You should always be consistent with personal behaviours and

company values that project a professional and positive demeanour

* You will always beenergised and lead by example. Will build trust and gain respect

them to maintain supply and site production

* Actively seeking feedback internally and externally with a consistentfocus on what can we do to be more productive and efficient. Ensuring that all required reporting is completed by yourself andyour people
* Ensuring all decisions are made in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix and
* Company procedures and policies
* Persists with business improvement ideas despite other commitments and ensures

the business learns from problemssolved and incorporates the learning into the

business

* Ensuring you and your people enter all orders on the COINS system in a timely and

accurate manner

* Ensuring that you and your people make purchases with purchase cards were appropriateand ensuring that VAT evidence is obtained
* Keeping financial promises to the Board.
* Understanding your financial authority so that you can manage costs accordingly and the business implications of the decisions you and your people makeEssential Experience of the Role-

* The ideal candidate will be keen to learn, motivated, presentable and have good interpersonal skills.
* Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is essential, and knowledge of the COINS system is an advantage.
* In line with Company Values: Integrity, Caring, Progressive, openness and quality.
* Skills (including IT): Good communication, organization and IT skills. Strategic thinker

with strong leadership, negotiation and presentation skills.

* Ableto work under pressure and prioritise/delegate tasks in a diligent and professional manner.
* The Senior Buyer must be able to coach, develop and listen to your people.
* At least 5 years' experience in the purchasing arena with strong Civil
* Engineering and Construction material knowledge. Team management experience.
* Qualifications Degree or HNC/HND minimum in Civil Engineering and/or
* Or 5 years plus experience in similar purchasing role.
* CIPS qualified would be advantageous.
