Tasks and responsibilities that a town planning consultant (with a focus on architecture, urban planning, and building services) might be expected to perform:
* Conducting site analysis and assessments to determine the suitability of a location for development
* Preparing and presenting plans, proposals, and reports to clients, regulatory agencies, and community groups
* Providing input on zoning and land use regulations, as well as building codes and other regulations that may impact a development project
* Coordinating with other professionals, such as engineers, surveyors, and environmental consultants, to ensure that allaspects of a project are considered
* Participating in community meetings and public hearings to gather input and feedback onproposed projects
* Analyzing the impacts of a proposed development on the local environment, including traffic, noise, and air quality
* Designing buildings and other structures that are functional, attractive, and meet the needs of the people who will use them
* Overseeing the construction process to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
* Providing ongoing support and assistance to clients throughout the planning and development process.
Requirements:
* membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
* relevant experience in a previous position and experience working as a private or publicsector planning officer or consultant
* the ability to manage your own time and meet challenging deadlines
* excellent knowledge, understanding and application of current and emerging planning legislation
* the ability to get to remote building/construction
