Working for a global softwarecompany we are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join on a 6 month contract.
This is a hybrid role with ad-hoc travel once or twice a month to their offices in the Midlands.
The main purpose of the role will be to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
You will be responsible for helping with the deployment of applications / services into the Azure cloud environments as we push on with a major migration.
There will need to be the experience of best practice in terms of cloud services deployment and secure by design deployments along side network setup and adjustments as the project proceeds from initial concept to final deployment. It will be essential to work a member of the team and to provide them with insight on best practise and standards. A good solid understanding of Azure remote desktop / application delivery and day to day management of the Azure infrastructure as well as being able to deploy from scratch andhelp to build gold images and deploy new environments using the gold images.
Another critical component will be to ensure documentation is solid and up to date at all points during the migration phases and post migration too. There will be the expectation to update the internal ticket system and FAQ notes as the project develops.
Responsibilities:
1 Designand deploy Azure-based applications and infrastructure
2 Implement and manage Azure services like Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, AKS, SQL Database, Storage, and Networking
3 Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools likeARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep
4 Configure Azure monitoring, logging, and security solutions
5 Translate business requirements into scalable and secure Azure solutions
6 Optimize and troubleshoot existing Azure deployments
7 Provide guidance on Azure best practices.
Skills and experience:
1 Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer
2 Strong understanding of cloud computing and Azure services
3 Proficient in IaC tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep
4 Knowledge of Azure monitoring, logging, and security solutions
5 Scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash)
6 Strong problem-solving and communication skills
7 Azure certification(s) preferred (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
