Concept Resourcing are looking for a Business Analyst to join a higher education provider based in West London. You will be understanding and analysing business needs and processes and define comprehensive and complete business solutions to support and deliver institutional business. You will be engaging with business process and service owners to understand their needs and translate this into detailed business, functional and technical requirement specifications. Key responsibilities:
* Investigate and formulate strategies and recommendations for an appropriate scope of requirements to inform priorities for projects as per overall strategy agreed with the Project/Programme Manager.
* Develop, design and implement end-to-endbusiness solutions, process improvement and re-engineering to achieve efficiency and effectiveness objectives.
* Establish andmanage effective, customer focused working relationships with business users to work proactively in identifying requirements, developing user friendly solutions, effectively communicating and presenting those, and working with and coaching other cross functional team members to trouble shoot and solve problems.
* Build and manage client/user relationships in order to present andgain acceptance of agreed to proposals and solutions. Also markets the value of the skills and advice of the whole team/individual in order to progress effective solutions.
* Undertake analysis of client requirements at the strategic and operational level, with final direction for further development to be agreed with the Project/Program Manager. Subsequently evaluate technologies, tools, and methodologies and lead research projects, personally undertaking significant research as to the method.
* Workwith assigned specific project managers to support the many projects that are ongoing as part of the Services roadmap.
* Applyinnovative and creative thinking to business and/or technological issues/problems/opportunities to ensure the business compatibility of the solution.
* Determine alternatives, their benefits and feasibility. Review the business case and risk analysis ifthese have been prepared by others (e.g. systems analyst). Advise the client/owner of the implications of the analysis. Definefrom the feasibility analysis the next steps and project direction.
* Define and integrate standard business terms and measures into solutions.
* Undertake or contribute to change management processes and interventions such as impact assessment, go-live readiness, training and other activities and provide leadership and coaching in this regard to assigned project teams.
* Define data validation and reconciliation requirements, rules and procedures.
* Analyse 'as-is' and 'to-be' business processes and perform gap analysis.
* Any other ad hoc project related work commensurate with classification.
Requirements:
*Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, MS Word and a range of Software applications.
* Sound knowledge of business process design principles, including process mapping and Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
* Sound knowledge of software development technologies, methodologies and standards and familiarity with data warehouse design and implementation.
* Experienceas a Business Analyst in a diverse, complex environment including benefit, impact, cost and resource analysis.
* Experience in the planning and formulation of strategies for the development of business solutions and extensive experience in the evaluation, implementation and management of changes to business practices to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
* Experience in integration and user-acceptance testing: build test cases and test plans, partner closely with dependent internal testing teams,and collaborate with ICT on management and delivery of testing environments.
* Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with changes in technology and to recognise and act on the potential impact on the institution.
* Undergraduate degree in related subject OR applicable combination of professional qualifications and extensive applicable experience.
* Experience with change management methodology and interventions on business transformation programmes.
* Experience in helping end users understand andtake advantage of the benefits of the enterprise solutions and in maintaining Operational Excellence Network.
* Previous experience working in the Higher Education Sector highly desirable.
