Our client, a leading IT Solutions Provider, are currentlylooking to add a Communications Engineer to their growing onsite support team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a companywho have been at the forefront of pioneering data centre solutions for over 30 years.
The Communications Engineer will be responsible for escalations from customers and incident management queries.
Salary - £40,000 basic + bonus + benefits
Location - Central London
Shifts - Monday-Friday, 11am-7pm
Key Responsibilities
* Contact point for customers, receiving and handling requests from the service desk
* Install telecoms cabinets and cable installs, and configure customer equipment* Prioritise and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures
* Investigate causes of incidents and seeks resolution* Conduct tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools
Required Technical Experience
* Sound knowledge of wide area networking and all associated protocols to perform testing
* Good understanding of Fibre and Copper interfaces
* Rack installation experience - routers, switches, servers
* Ability to conduct fault isolationand problem solving associated with WAN
* Good understanding of Microsoft and Linux products
* Data Centre experience (desirable)
