Description:
I have an urgent requirement for a Data Centre Manager who has specific experience with the management of critical facilities (mechanical, electrical, control systems).
This will be a minimum12-month assignment, inside IR35.
The Role:
* Pro-active in the management of the Critical Facilities engineers within the UK Data centres, from an electrical, M&E, air conditioning, and general engineering duties, by effectiveness, reliabilityand capacity by the identification and implementation of innovative critical facility solutions and strategies that deliver business advantage.
* To develop and manage relationships with supplier maintainers.
* Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.
* Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner.
* Respond toemergency escalations.
* Manage minor / major facility projects, produce plant reports and administer site support systems.* Support the creation, review and approval of Critical Environment (CE) procedures.
* Oversee Computerised Maintenance Management System usage and reporting.
* Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
* Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend system upgrades.
Skills/Experience required:
* Possess a high level of system knowledgein performing building and critical data centre maintenance, repairs and emergency service on state-of-the-art critical supportsystems and must be able to demonstrate such capabilities.
* Familiarisation in preparing, proof reading and approving Datacentre MOPs for engineers.
* Verifiable hands-on technical work experience required.
* You will hold a HSE certification
* Relevant experience with critical systems infrastructure equipment (i.e. electrical switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fire detection/suppression or building monitoring systems).
* Knowledge of HPC services
* Certified AP / SAP
* Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services related University degree or equivalent
* High level of initiative and the ability to work proactively with little supervision.
* Proven experience deploying and managing a mission-critical, highly available Data Centres
* An in depth knowledge of security and Health and Safety regulations (NEBOSH).
* Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings.
* City & Guilds trade certification in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC) preferred.
* Professional affiliations preferred, example MIET
* C&G 2382-12 17th Edition
* C&G 2392-10 Inspection & Testing
