Concept have partnered up with a client that are an innovative digital and cloud transformation consultancy. They have delivered to significant technology transformation programmes within the UK Government and Higher Education. On this occasion they are looking for an experience Enterprise Data Architect to support on a key account.
About the role:
We needskilled, detail-oriented Enterprise Data Architect to strengthen our esteemed Data & Analytics division. The selected candidate will demonstrate proficiency across a spectrum of data, analytics, and integration fields, with a particular emphasis on developing the BI/ MI strategy, interpreting business and analytical requirements, documenting data flows, embedding performance management approaches (such as adoption of a Balanced Scorecard framework), and a keen awareness of business architecture.
As an Enterprise Data Architect, your core mission will be to sculpt and oversee the evolution of our clients' Performance Management framework, increasing transparency of complex measures and metrics and helping to rationalise the MI/ BI landscape. Entrustedwith such a vital role, you'll serve as a reliable consultant for our clients, elucidating the integration of Data within the broader Business and Technology infrastructures. This role will challenge you to offer innovative solutions as well as anticipating the future of data architectures.
Day to day activities
* Develop the Performance Management Framework: Collaborate with clients to implement a Balanced Scorecard approach, document metrics and business outputs, use industry standard terminology (such as NAO guidelines and Balanced Scorecard methodology) to define metrics and user requirements, documenting value chains anddata flows, and linking outputs to data sources.
* Support Performance Management Governance: Identify and engage key stakeholders to establish a governance support to monitor the health of the organisation (using MI and other methods) on an on-going basis - this will involve stakeholder engagement and supporting with the creation and running of a framework of governance meetings.
* Define Business Analysis Products: Work with our client to standardise an approach to documenting MI/BI/ analytical requirements. Work with our clients and delivery partners to rationalise the MI estate.
* Apply Systemic Thinking: Collaborate withcross-functional teams to align Data Architecture, Business Design, and Data Governance and shape the development of MI to robustly and comprehensively monitor activity and outcomes across the operations of the organisation.
* Ensure Architectural Assurance: Assess design architectures and data flows to align with the central government department's strategic vision and data strategies.
* Produce Documentation: Draft, refine, and review essential documentation related to data strategies and implementations.
* Check Alignment: Continuously verify that products align with the department's Data strategy, suggesting modificationswhen necessary.
* Foster Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, data engineers, MI Support and development team and senior stakeholders to promote best practices and provide architectural guidance.
* Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data management, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of data excellence.
Role Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a strong background in Performance Management and Data Architecture and demonstrable experience of working with Data Engineers, Business Intelligence developers, Business Architects and delivering Data Architecture Projects utilising a broad range of methods and frameworks incorporating on-prem, cloud and hybrid models.
You should have:
* Performance Management Expertise: Experience of developing a coherent Performance Framework for complex organisations. Working knowledge of Balanced Scorecard methodology, documenting data flows and value-chains, experience of documenting complex logic in an understandable manner.
* Performance Management Governance: Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders on a regular cadence.
* Business Analysis Expertise: Experience of developing clear requirements and definitions for complex metricsand visualisation requirements to support MI development
* Business Intelligence and Data Engineering Expertise: Proficiency in reviewing 3rd-party builds and ensuring their alignment with strategic objectives. A good understanding of the capabilities ofPowerBI and Azure Synapse
* Data Visualisation: A good understanding of the principles for visualising data in a clear manner* Architectural Acumen: Strong background in assessing data solution design architectures and data flow.
* Business Architecture and Data Governance: A good understanding of the principles of Business Architect and Data Governance in the context of the delivery of a robust Performance Management framework.
* Documentation Mastery: Experience of developing Business Analysis products clear describe the AS-IS, present a vision of the TO-BE and the documents that support that journey
* Strategic Alignment: Demonstrable experience ensuring products and strategies are in harmony, especially within a public sector context.
* Clearance: Candidates must have at least BPSS clearance and be eligible to undergo and obtain government SC Clearance. Possession of SC clearance is highly preferable.
