General Manager - Local Services
3-month contract - NHS Trust
£380 per day

Overview:The post holder's main purpose is to deputise for the Deputy Director, leading and inspiring the staff within the directorate todeliver an amazing service for patients.
They are accountable to the Deputy Director for high quality, effective performanceand strategic development of the directorate, the Trust and the wider MSE group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delegated responsibility for the delivery of all clinical and technical services within the directorate, in line with relevant national and local standards.
* Developing and fostering effective partnerships with other directorates, local CCGs and Specialist Commissioners and Primary Care Services
* Ensure that the medical specialities set improvement goals which incorporate local, national andinternational benchmarks as appropriate and review progress against these.
* The post holder will ensure the delivery of theTrust's short to medium-term objectives and key performance targets, with particular focus to the cancer 62 day target and RTT.* Develop and implement effective reporting arrangements across the Trust to accurately record and monitor performance key deliverable and to pro-actively manage any variances.
* Ensure robust emergency planning and business continuity to provide resilience and management of internal/external incidents.
* Ensures the effective operation of and participates in the on call senior management rota as required
Qualifications and Experience:
* Master's degree or equivalent experience Management qualification
* Extensive CPD portfolio
* Experience of working with external agencies and representing a trust at senior level.* Experience and understanding of financial management, including previous responsibility for a budget.
* Extensive GeneralManager or equivalent management experience within an acute hospital setting at Band 8b or above.
* Experience of holding others to account and taking action when needed
* Experience of managing at operation level, the delivery of national and local performance standard including those relating access.
* Experience of working within a multi professional environment and achieving objectives through leadership, facilitation and negotiation.
* Knowledge of service improvement techniques and how to apply them.
* Knowledge of aspects of clinical governance and the application at clinical directorate level including an understanding of the application of the CQC domains.
* Knowledge on NHS policy and priorities and how this relates to the services within the directorate.
* Experience of analysing and interpreting a wide range of conflicting data.
* Has a full range of IT skills appropriate to the role including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
