Working for a global Software Design company we are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join them on a 6 month contract. The rate for this role is up to £750 per day and this is working Inside IR35.

As an Infrastructure Security Architect you will improve and evolve the security controlsbuilt into every layer of our infrastructure stack, extend the reach of secure baselines up into applications/services, increaseour agility in the face of change, and deliver demonstrably improved assurance of our security posture.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be instrumental in helping infrastructure and application teams to: revise their secure baselines;streamline their maintenance; improve strategies and processes for documentation and testing; and minimise friction when updating already-deployed infrastructure, services and applications.
The company's global IT infrastructure underpins criticalbusiness operations and large-scale engineering capabilities in a fast-paced organisation, so we depend on automated approaches(e.g. employing orchestration strategies combined with config-as-code approaches vs. monolithic images) to minimise disruption.Required Skills and Experience:
At a high level, we are looking for demonstrated ability as a technical security architect and practitioner, with specific and hands-on technical security expertise.
Technical security implementation experience covering core infrastructure platforms, including:
* Microsoft Windows Server
* Linux Server (ideally with focus onRedHat, CentOS, and Ubuntu)
* Networking (switches, routers, firewalls; ideally Cisco)
* Storage/Backup (network-attached NFS and CIFS storage platforms; ideally NetApp, Isilon, Rubrik)
* Virtualisation (VMware, RHEV)
* Security controls in Cloud,whether IaaS or PaaS, across AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
* Directories (ideally Active Directory, Azure AD, Oracle LDAP)
* Databases (ideally Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle)
Experience of extending security further up the stack, including:
* Web/application servers (apache, IIS, tomcat, etc)
* Language runtimes (including securing against dependency confusion and similar threats)
* Agree, in consultation with application and business owners, optimal security posture for security controls offered by applications, whether on-prem or SaaS
Over-arching experience of deployment and maintenance of secure infrastructure baselines at scale:
* Experience with common orchestration or management platforms such as SCCM, Puppet, InTune, Ansible, etc
* Demonstrable experience deploying config-as-code approaches across large scale infrastructure
* Experience of monitoring and testing security control posture
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience:
* Experience with Identity and Access Management, Identity Providers, Federation, best practises for authentication and MFA
* Experience working in or with Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, or Security Operations teams
* Experience of mapping specific technical controls to granular or high level security frameworks such as NIST 800 or ISO 27001
Professional experience:
* Meaningful experience in a globally-distributed team
* Working in a sophisticated, multi-geography, high-tech environment
* Providing technicalleadership, mentoring, and skills-transfer to others
