Integration Developer - Part Remote / Hybrid - Birmingham
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
Our client has embarkedon a major programme of technology transformation which will deliver significant new capabilities both internally and externally.
To support this, they are looking for a technically strong developer to take responsibility for the development of APIs and web services using a new Azure API Management platform and Middleware application.
Reporting to the Head of DevOps, you will be responsible for ensuring APIs and web services are developed in C# to our clients standards for integration, and are designed and deployed to improve integration between teir core applications and business processes.
Upon receiving requirements from both business analysts and the solution architects to develop APIs and web services, in response to these, you will integrateapplications internally and externally to the organisation. You will identify, document, and communicate any risks and issues and escalate as required.
Enhancing the existing middleware platform in Azure to achieve integration both internally and with third parties, you will also ensure the middleware service is developed in line with the recognised practices and principles of software development and security.
You will also engage and collaborate in partnership with their existing third-party software development provider to design, build and document a scalable template for systems integration.
What You'll Do:
* Develop APIs and web services to support process automation and application integration.
* Develop standards for API and web service naming, levelling and deployment.
* Collaborate with the Lead Solution Architect and Process Automation Engineer(s) to deliver fully or partially automated processes.
* Expose APIs and web services to clients and other third parties securely.
* Drive reuse of APIs and web services to reduce the cost of technology change.
* Use documented business requirements and solutionarchitectures to develop APIs and web services in a Microsoft Azure Platform and Middleware application.
* Develop in other tools as required - e.g. ESB, LogicApps.
* Develop and manage development standards for APIs and web services.
* Ensure thatAPIs and web services are discoverable and accessible to required applications and third parties.
* Develop an understanding of the new BPM platform (Bizagi) though training and documentation.
* Work with the Process Automation Engineer to develop highquality automated process solutions with optimum reuse of APIs and web services.
* Conforming to company security policies and standards, make API and web service functionality available externally to the business as required.
* Maintain a catalogue of APIs and web service, ensuring minimal duplication of functionality and maximum reuse across solutions.
What You'll Have:* Five or more years API and web service development.
* ITIL, CoBiT, Prince2 frameworks or similar. (advantageous)
* Experience of working in a facilities management environment. (highly advantageous)
* Experience of Microsoft Azure API Managementand LogicApps. (highly advantageous)
* Experience of application integration and related development. (essential)
* A trackrecord of delivering world class development solutions within a large, complex commercial operation where flexibility and valuefor money are key success factors.
* Strong planning and organising skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
* Excellent documentation skills with the ability to explain outcomes to a variety of stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically, both in writing andverbally to non-technical colleagues.
* Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and a pragmatic approach.
