I am looking for an experienced Network Architect, who holds a current/valid DV Clearance, to support a large government client on behalf of an IT and Engineering Consultancy business.IR35 status: Outside
Duration: 6-12 months
Hybrid: Corsham/Remote
The Role
* As the CCDE/CCDP qualified Principal Architect, you will be required to support, in the near term, the priority engineering works identified as a result of COVID-19, to lead on, in the medium term, the transition of services and system to the future network solution (i.e. turning the technical schedules into reality) and to define the future network design and the transition strategy required to get there.
* You will be accountable to the Programme Director for all outcomes and deliverables.
* Develop an understanding of the existing network architectures and develop (create or enhance) network designs (by service and component/system) to support this understanding
* Lead on the development of a transition strategy (from current to the future network)
* Enable the migration of services / systems from the current network provision to the future network
* Network Architecture Roadmap
* Network Technology Roadmap
* Produce Briefing Notes to support strategic decision making
* Produce Architectural/Design notes
* Review of documentation from others
Essential skills and experience
* 5-10 years' experience supporting and designing complex Campus LAN & WAN networks based on IP Crypto.
* You must hold a valid/current DV Clearance
* Experience of MPLS, network controlsand Cloud technologies
* Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert - Routing and Switching (CCIE R&S)
* Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
* Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security (CCNA Security)
* Cisco Certified Network Associate - Wireless (CCNA Wireless)
* Architectural qualifications/certifications e.g. TOGAFv9, MODAF
Desirable skills and experience* 10+ years' experience of project engineering. Architectural experience or working in integrated design/architecture team.* Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
* Cloud based certification e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
* Programming for Network Engineers (PRNE) (proof of course completion)
* Cisco Network Programmability Design and Implementation Specialist (NPDESI) (proof of course completion)
* Python Certified Entry-Level Programmer (PCEP)
* Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing highly assured IP Crypto tunnelling of network traffic across bearers of opportunity.
* OSPF configuration and management, EIGRP, BGP, L3 TRL CATAPAN, Nexus-OS, Linux OS, QoS and DSCP marking, Policy Based Routing, logging and analysis tools (e.g. PRTG, Splunk, Solar Winds)
* Dynamic multipoint virtual private network (DMVPN), Cisco networking equipment, Dell networking equipment, Juniper firewall equipment
* Cisco and Microsoft VoIP and video teleconferencing, RBAC administration, Software Defined Network (SDN) exposure including SD-WAN, Cisco DNAC and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
