£304.16 per day

2 Month Contract - 1st August 2023 start date
FullTime - 37 hours per week 9 til 5 working hours
Mixed arrangement of working from home and office based in Isle Of Wight offices - agreed with line manager.
My client are a local government organisation and are looking for a Project Management Officer to come and join their team on an initial 2 month basis, paying £304.16 per day.
Skills required:
* Substantial relevant experience of the service area / profession, with evidence of specialist knowledge and work responsibilities appropriate to the role.
* Substantial experience of managing and delivering large scale highways projects with evidence of specialist knowledge in this area.
* Authoritative knowledge of relevant systems, policies, processes, regulations, professional guidelines and legislation relevant to the specialist work area.
* All round knowledge of Transport policies, highways traffic scheme management, urban design, and project delivery models.
* Excellent knowledge of service / profession and interrelationships with otherservices and departments and of wider sector / external influences / developments.
* High level of understanding of how the council's role as a highway authority fits with its wider corporate strategic objectives and of developments in the highways industry.
* Evidence of established industry connections and the ability to effectively network.
* Knowledge of strategy / market development.
* Good ICT skills including Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
* Demonstrable skills in using Microsoft applications and relevant highways/project management systems
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiationskills with a proven ability to build relationships, engage effectively and influence customers, partners, and stakeholders, incomplex situations.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, Members, Partners, and others.
* Able to lead public and stakeholder meetings dealing with complex issues.
* Able to demonstrate negotiation skills, tact, and diplomacyin order to work with many different views and opinions.
* Proven research skills demonstrating evidence of the ability to gather, coordinate and interpret information effectively.
* Able to analyse complex information effectively, and clearly communicate findings and recommendations appropriately.
* Proven analysis and evaluation skills, demonstrating the ability to identify, interpret and diagnose complex problems/issues and develop effective solutions. Able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills in order to deal with escalated and complex issues
* Experience of partnership working and representing the organisation externally.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, to manage a range of complex activities with proven ability to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads, monitor and evaluate work, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
* Ability to demonstrate successful service planning and workload management across a broad range of competing demands. Management and delivery of multiple schemes simultaneously.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills, significant experience of writing reports, specifications, and agreements.
* Demonstrable ability to understand and manipulate complex numerical data and technical information.
* Experience of financial processing and / or budget management.
* Experience of financial management of highways functions e.g., capital and revenue.
