Thisis a great opportunity to work for a business continuing to grow and focused on bringing passionate people in to help them. It is a permanent role with a salary offering up to £40,000.
Our client is looking for a someone with leadership capabilities ormanagerial experience so would consider someone outside of the purchasing industry.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Purchasing Manager will guide and support the Purchasing Team to ensure that KPI's are met and results are delivered.
Responsibilities:
- Provide business performance forecasting based on product invoicing
- Develop strong relationships and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure that the business gains competitive advantage in the channel and can effectively foresee and respond to changes in a timely manner
- Identify, design and implement new workflows and system improvements to maximisethe output from the Purchasing team
- Monitor performance of purchasing activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management, with recommended improvement measures where required
- Analysing demand patterns and maintain appropriate stock levels of run rate items, utilising virtual warehousing facilities efficiently
- Actively seeking incremental margin for the business through negotiation of special pricing, terms and deliveries
- Lead and coach the Purchasing team, supporting themwith clear goals and KPIs, regularly review progress and assist them in learning and adjusting accordingly
- Assist and support team members with achieving professional goals
- Drive and support the wider business with supply chain initiatives
- Demonstrate thought leadership and creative idea generation and foster this behaviour throughout the purchasing team in order to maximise profitability and minimise any supply or stocking risks to the business.

- Confident in leading a team and making business decisions
- Highly organised with strong administration skills
- Have knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Strong IT skills specifically Excel, Access, Word
- Contract and negotiation skills
- Possess a "can do" attitude
- A background/interest within the IT Sector would be advantageous
- CIPS is advantageous
