Resource Specialist - Birmingham Office with Remote Working - SalaryCirca £30,000 - £32,500 Plus Benefits
This superb Computer Software corporate in Birmingham is seeking a Resource Specialistto focus on supporting their Professional Services team which delivers IT projects & programmes in the UK & overseas. Through their effective resource planning and allocation of available resources to projects, the Resource Specialist ensures project & programme teams have the right people with the right skills.
Although the company has lovely offices in Birmingham,most of the Project team members choose to work remotely. The Resource Specialist can therefore decide whether to work in the office full-time, work a hybrid working week between the office & home, or choose to work fully remotely too. The company typically brings the team physically together onsite just once or twice a year.
The Resource Specialist will lead in all aspectsof resource planning & sourcing, together with supporting the PMO on small/medium projects, ensuring best practice governance is applied in terms of quality and timeliness of key deliverables. The Resource Specialist also supports with the compilationof project management reports and maintains programme and project files from supplied actual and forecast data.
Responsibilities Include:
* Providing resource planning and sourcing service to the Professional Services teams.
* Capturing demand requirements and matching against available resources to achieve the effective and efficient use of resource across the team.
*Provide a consultative approach to ensure resourcing processes are defined, documented and measured to achieve an effective resource management operating model.
* Support the Programme Management Office & R&D on small/medium projects, ensuring best practice governance is applied.
* Co-ordination of the regular project and programme level reporting cycles, co-ordinationof project governance arrangements including supporting the adoption of the project lifecycle and deliverables.
* Monitoring and reporting on project financials.
* Assessing & improving current processes and procedures.
Suitable Skills & Experience:
* Experienced as a Resource or PMO Specialist, alternatively experience as a Junior Project Manager would also be of interest
* Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills
* Good communication skills with the ability to develop strong & effective working relationships
* Good experience with O365 including Word &good Excel skills, additional Netsuite skills would be beneficial
* Ability to coach more junior team members as & when required
