My Client are The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence based in Manchester or London and are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager on an initial 6 month contract basis (37.5 Hours) Paying £543 per day (Inside IR35).
* Work will be a mixture of remote working and office-based working. NICE staff are all working predominantly remotely but with presence in the office as required.
* The successful candidate will be given either a Manchester or London based contract, which will be agreed with the candidate/agency at the point of contract. The successful candidate must be able and willingto travel to other NICE offices and work sites as required.
* The majority of the work and team is based in Manchester and thesuccessful candidate will be expected to attend the Manchester office up to 2 days per week, as required and agreed with theirmanager.
* Expense to travel to the base office will not be paid. but any expenses for travel to other locations can be reimbursed if agreed in advance.
NICE will be aiming to hold interviews on Tuesday 15th November 2022 with a proposed approximate start date of Thursday 24th November 2022
Job Summary
NICE are currently undertaking a number of IT projects to improve andmodernise our infrastructure and user experience. This includes, but is not limited to, improvements to AV/VC, the implementation of a new service desk, improved WiFi at our offices, and the implementation of a digital workplace underpinned by M365.
NICErequires a Senior IT Project Manager to work with the existing infrastructure and operations team to bring planning and delivery experience across multiple areas of the portfolio and also provide capacity for the day-to-day delivery of some of the projects underway.
This person will be reporting directly to the Associate Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations to support theplanning, progress reporting and delivery of the portfolio of projects and will also support the establishment of a process tocapture and prioritise new projects or BAU tasks that come into the team.
There is currently one newly appointed IT Project Manager in post at NICE. The Senior IT PM will work with them to deliver the projects and will also provide oversight, coaching and direction. Staff welfare and line management will remain within the existing structure.
The NICE infrastructure and operations team is a small team and this role will be asked to manage IT projects but also to be part of the multi-disciplinary team whoare delivering on the ground to staff and members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior IT Project Manager will work to the Associate Director of Infrastructure & Operations.
The key duties and deliverables* for the role will be:
*Create a portfolio plan of all IT projects underway at NICE and liaise with senior members of the DIT team to prioritise delivery of these for the organisation
* Establish a process for the ongoing capture, triage and reporting of IT projects or tasks that come into the team and work with the DIT Head of Service Delivery Management to embed this into the wider DIT portfolio oversight reporting and mechanisms.
* Work with the team and key stakeholders to understand resource requirements and inputs for projects, and map project plans including activities/deadlines against resource availability and constraints.
* Ensure the successful delivery of IT project(s) and programmes on time and to the required budget and quality and performance standards
* Effectively manage multiple IT project(s) concurrently in accordance with delivery priorities and available resources.
* Produce and feed into project plans, project initiation documents, highlight reports and all other required documentation including riskand issue logs to ensure the delivery of agreed deliverables, milestones, and objectives.
* Where applicable, manage project teams to support the delivery of the projects.
* Support your department and/or team in a way which will contribute to its smooth and efficient operation.
* Engage and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders across the organisation and third-party providers as necessary to support projects
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Qualifications: PRINCE 2 or equivalent such as SCRUM, Agile, Six Sigma (preferably black belt).
* Have significant proven experience of active management and hands on delivery of complex IT projects within an organisation with multiple senior stakeholders.
* A good communicator who canproactively follow up with people effectively, escalate issues appropriately and hold people to account whilst maintaining goodworking relationships.
* Have significant experience of managing a portfolio of IT related projects in conjunction with otherproject managers, including personal management of more than one project within this portfolio at any given time.
* Experiencein the establishment of processes to support project and BAU queries and issue resolution across a multi-disciplinary team.Additional desirable skills and experience
* Knowledge and experience of procuring IT assets
* Desirable qualifications include IT networks, ITIL, cyber security
* Ability to undertake training and awareness sessions for staff related to IT
* Experience of working in the public sector
