Senior Java Developer - Part Remote / Hybrid - (City of London)
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
We are excited tobe working with an incredible start-up that is owned and backed by an ex-dragon from Dragon's Den. They have set out to help owner-led businesses embrace the technology and tools they need to succeed. To help them with this mission, they are looking to hire a talented Senior Developer to join the technical team.
What You'll Do:
Initially, you will be working on their backend system, creating a graphql system to feed data into the web and mobile backends. Part of the data will be retrieved from thirdparty systems, some of which will require calling into SOAP endpoints and other HTTP endpoints. The rest will be held within AWS (for which they are using Cognitect's AWS libraries).
How They Work:
They adhere to certain working practices that promote agility and collaboration. Our client uses a continuous deployment system, within a trunk-based development branching strategy, supported by the use of Feature Flags (to separate deployment from release). Remote pair-programming will be part of your daily work (though never 100% of the day), they generally employ a test-driven development (TDD) approach and want to develop a 'DevOps culture', based upon collaboration and shared responsibility for the complete delivery.
Technologies:
* Strong experience with Java / Enterprise Java. (Essential)
* Exposure or interest in learning procedural languages. (Essential)
* Experience using Clojure (with Lacinia and Pedestal). (Beneficial, not essential)
* Experience with AWS, TS (with NextJS), Python.What You'll Have:
