We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our client who are based in South West London. Our client is a truly unique European receptive Tour Operator that specialise on performing, educational and cultural tours for Adult and student groups.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Toprovide a high-quality service to all clients including quoting, providing general touring services, and sourcing venues and audiences. To assist in the consolidation and growth of our client, working on tours from a worldwide inbound market and assistingin the development of the business in accordance with the business plan.

To oversee the group quotations and operations functions for our client. To manage the role/s of Group Travel Specialists (and similar roles) within our clients in terms of the staff's day-to-day roles.

To maintain a database of suppliers, venues, and publicity contacts. To oversee and undertake administrative tasks, including filing, logging, monitoring payments and general office duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To quote on tours as required using the client's systems.
* To oversee the team's quotations and ensure quotes are logged, completed inthe correct way, and followed up in timely fashion.
* To adhere to all procedures and systems as used by our client.
* To oversee the team's operational activities and ensure the smooth operations of all groups - i.e., the timely booking of all services, the issuing of vouchers, the invoicing of clients etc.
* To negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible rates andliaise with colleagues on rates, new hotels, and coach companies etc.
* To maintain good relations with all clients and suppliers.
* To develop and research venues and visits as required for tours handled.
* To ensure the correct logging of quotes and tours, and to assist the Directors on a subsequent analysis of the logs.
* To oversee the logging of payments to suppliers.* To cost and quote accurately when required.
* To achieve the costed profit margins for all tours and to aim to over-achieve whenever possible.
* To minimise accounts/credit control problems and to ensure that invoicing is completed at the correct stage.
* To develop product knowledge by participating in relevant familiarisation trips and undertaking independent visits asnecessary.
* To assist with developing itineraries and producing "sample" itineraries that can be used as a basis for new quotations by the team.
* To develop press and publicity packages and to develop relations with arts offices and mailing lists around the UK. To establish a database of publicity contacts.
* To increase knowledge of European products.
* To build up a library and database of suppliers.
* To understand the needs of the clients and the market in which the company is operating.
*To provide emergency cover outside office hours as required.
* To be on own in office at certain times.
* To be aware of and be proactive concerning any issues affecting the business e.g., peak dates.
* To take joint responsibility for information and resources e.g., keeping information files up-to-date and fully stocked.
* To perform any reasonable instruction from a superior.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Minimum of 2 years' Operations experience within travel
* Education to degree level
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
* Excellent maths skills
* Computer literate (Excel, Word, email etc)
* Staff supervisory experience
* Excellent customer service skills
* Quick learner
* Professional demeanour
* Common sense and ability towork independently
* Good time management skills and ability to work on lots of different projects at the same time

THE PACKAGE:

The salary for this role is £30,000 to £35,000, the role is office based but can consider remote working depending on experience.
