Are you an experience Operations Manager within the Travel Industry?
One of the UK's leading operators of challenge events (UK & Abroad) are looking for an Operations Manager to join their team in South East London.
The Operations Manager is a senior role within the company, taking responsibility for delivering safe, good value trips to a wide range of destinations.
This role would suit an experienced administrator with a strong grasp of how tour packages are put together and the contractual and risk management frameworks within which adventurous travel operates. Experience of managing staff would be an advantage.
Job overview:
* Maintaining Trip Date Mapping documents to ensure all trips are planned efficiently, liaising with sales staff to ensure departure dates are appropriately selected
* Take responsibility for ensuringthat, where possible, trips are mapped on dates with
the best value flight prices.
* Draft, negotiate and agree fair ground-supplier contracts that maximise value formoney and protect the company's reputation for safety and quality.
* Create and maintain accurate participant briefing packs for treks, marathons and 3
peaks, reviewing and improving annually based on feedbackreceived from suppliers,
ICOs, medics and participants.
* Take responsibility for recruiting (advertising, interviewing, training and budgeting) for
ICOs (treks, 3 peaks and marathons) and medics for all required trips.
* Research and produce costestimates for new trips and if approved by management,
produce trip manifests.
* Work closely with the CEO and external consultants to ensure that the company has a comprehensive trip risk analysis and mitigation framework in place and that ICOs, Medics,
* Ground Suppliers and other staff are briefed on what the framework is and
how it applies to them.
The Person /Experience Required:
* Experience of group adventure travel
* Working within / managing an Operations team
* Building and maintaining professional relationships
* Working in a small team to meet stretching targets
* Completed at least one overseas challenge event and/or marathon event OR previous experience of working within RAG marketing
* Good understanding of a diverse range of marketing techniques
* Understanding of how travel packages are formed
* Understanding of the challenge eventmarket in the UK and student-led fundraising
Package:
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days from home and 3 in the South East London office, paying a salary of £30,000 (negotiable for the right person).
