There are a variety of different techniques to provide silo content level indication. These include; load cells, radar, ultrasonics and a number of different level probe methods. The most frequently employed method, by far, is the use of load cells (ATEX versions available for hazardous areas) to monitor silo contents. The silo is mounted on three load cells which through a suitable amplifier and display unit provides real time indication of the amount of material stored.
