NEET UG 2023: An Overview
NEET UG 2023 stands as one of India's most significant and highly anticipated competitive examinations. Not only does this exam shape the future of aspiring doctors in India and beyond, but it also holds profound implications for all participants, often leaving a lasting impact.
In essence, NEET UG serves as the gateway exam for securing MBBS and BDS seats in all medical colleges across India. Additionally, qualifying NEET UG is mandatory for those intending to pursue MBBS studies abroad.
Administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET UG has undergone slight modifications in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, candidates will have more flexibility in choosing which questions to attempt compared to the pre-pandemic period. Nevertheless, the core features of NEET-UG remain unchanged.
NEET UG remains a pen and paper examination, as it was previously. Similarly, in NEET UG 2023, candidates will be required to mark their responses on an OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen.
The total duration of the exam remains 3 hours.
The medium of examination for NEET UG will continue to be the same, offering options in English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu.
Candidates will continue to answer multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in 2023.
The total number of MCQs will be 200, but candidates are required to attempt only 180 questions.
The negative marking policy remains unchanged, with candidates awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and deducted 1 mark for every incorrect answer.
